The mission of the Student Recreation Center is to encourage awareness, motivation, and self-responsibility in making informed lifestyle choices, developing healthful habits, and improving the quality of life in the broader University community consistent with the University’s primary mission of promoting the personal, social, physical, and intellectual growth of students.
The Student Recreation Center will contribute to the development and management of a comprehensive and multi-faceted health, recreation, and leisure program and the cultivation of an environment that will encourage all community members to achieve educational and recreational goals by enhancing their social and physical development.
The Student Recreation Center will foster student learning and the acquisition of life skills through the application of classroom knowledge and experiences in all aspects of the governance, operation, and management of the Center.
The mission will be accomplished through a service-oriented program of recreational and fitness activities that meet changing needs, and promote interaction, cooperation, and collegiality among all community members.
Please note: Spaces are not considered reserved until a Space Confirmation document is sent out. Space requests must be submitted a minimum of one week before anticipated event dates. It may take up to 3 business to receive a response to a request.

The Student Recreation Center has a variety of equipment available for 24-hr checkout.

Student Recreation Center Camera Policy
Prohibited Areas
Photography or recording is strictly prohibited in the locker/restroom areas.
Personal Images
Personal selfies and filming are permitted.
Class Projects
Recording for class projects is also allowed, MSD desk clerk or Weight Room attendant should be made aware that individuals are filming for a class. In both cases, it is the patron’s responsibility not to have anyone else in the image unless an individual has said they are okay with being in the picture/video. If patrons believe they have been filmed without consent, they should report to the OCCS to file a Conduct Complaint.
For large-scale class projects where student groups need an area to be closed or blocked off, students must reserve the space and complete an Organized Filming Request form (reverse side). Reservation requests may take up to 72 hours to process.
Surveillance
Throughout the Rec, there are surveillance cameras. These are not constantly monitored, and footage is used for validating incident reports or addressing compliance concerns.
Professional Filming
Members of professional news reporting agencies must gain permission to interview, record, or film inside the Rec. Permission shall only be given by Pro-Staff.
Main Gym
The Main Gym features three basketball courts which can be used for Volleyball, Badminton, and Pickleball. New additions to the space include Pull-up bars and Pegboards.
